Description

Simpsonichthys cholopteryx 'Alto Araguaia HVP 2016-28'

In this USD auction we offer 50 handpicked eggs in peat.

According to own experience these killifish reaches a maximum length of 4 cm and can be kept in pairs or trios in a 12-litre tank. It is very important to store the eggs as wet and mineral-poor as possible. The storage substrate should also be very fine-grained, so that it can cover the eggs, which are up to 2 millimeters in diameter, without any gaps. By 'mineral poor' we mean peat, for example, where over-brewing with hot distilled water results in the infusion water having a maximum of only 15 S/cm after cooling down.

By the way, the development period of part of the eggs is only 3 to 5 weeks and of all eggs the diapause III is only 3 days at most, that means hatchable eggs hatch after 3 days at the latest, no matter if they are in water or in a humid substrate. So a portion of peat with eggs can never become a breather! The breather is the weedy tank with an electrical conductivity of less than 30 S/cm, occupied by a pair or a trio of this species.

The winner of this auction will receive more information on the incubation of eggs of this species.

We guarantee fertile eggs and a correct packaging. To protect the eggs against short-term cold, we ship the eggs, wrapped in alternating layers of bubble wrap and aluminium foil, in a strong cardboard box. But we can't be responsible for hatching rate, sex-ratio, possible belly-sliders, dissolved eggs on arrival, overheating or undercooling, customs issues, damage to packaging and unexpected problems during transport e.g. hesitations.

The buyer pays the shipping costs of $ 8.00 (~8,00 ) for a shipment with tracking and 5% of the total price when payment is processed via PayPal.
