Description

Guppies, sometimes called millionfish, is a small, hardy fish that can make a wonderful addition to a peaceful community tank. These colorful fish are prolific breeders and can quickly populate a tank with a variety of color patterns. The males tend to be smaller, have a larger tail fin, a pointed anal fin and have more color than females. Although some females may have a small amount of color on the tail fin, they are usually void of color on the body, a fan shaped anal fin, and are usually larger than male guppies. Female guppies also have what is called a gravid spot. This is a dark spot that is seen close to the anal fin. When a female guppy is pregnant, the eyes of the fry is sometimes visible inside the gravid spot. Guppies require a tank with at least 10 gallons of water, 20 gallons being ideal. They are very tolerant of changing tank conditions. Plants should be a hardier species such as Java Moss or Java Fern. Floating plants also help to give females a place to birth fry and a place for fry to hide from adults. Adults may eat the fry if left to fend for themselves without the cover of plants. The fry should be fed brine shrimp, micro food and pulverized flakes. Guppies are omnivores and require both algae-based foods as well as meaty foods. An algae-based flake food, along with live foods, freeze-dried bloodworms, tubifex, and brine shrimp will provide guppies with the proper nutrition. How I keep MY guppies: Temperature: 80 degrees F pH: 7.2 Food: I feed a mixture of Hikari Fancy Guppy frozen bloodworms, frozen bbs and live foods such as grindal worms, white worms, and microworms. Auction winner will receive 1 (M/F) pair of guppies. Shipping is with USPS Priority Mail Medium Flat Rate Box at a cost of $15.00 SHIPPING POLICY I ship Monday through Wednesday only. This helps prevent loss of life due to weekend delays. I strongly urge all customers to keep a close eye on tracking using USPS tracking service. It is important that you are able to receive your package as soon as it is delivered as some species of fish and feeder cultures are very sensitive to extreme hot and cold temperatures. In most cases, I use USPS Priority Mail but some items do ship USPS First Class. Overnight mail is available upon request. After your package leaves my hands I cannot be responsible for late, delayed, damaged, lost, or stolen packages. I ship to the US only. I reserve the right to hold shipping if I feel that the weather is not within reasonable conditions. I will NOT risk the health of my stock. HOLIDAY SHIPPING POLICY I do NOT ship during holidays. If I feel that your order will not arrive without delay, I will hold shipping until the following week. I know this may be of some inconvenience but I want to make sure everyone gets a healthy package. RETURN/DOA POLICY Due to the nature of my products, I do not accept returns. If in the rare event that your culture or fish arrive dead you must send me 2 photos within 2 hours of delivery time. I will do my best to resolve any issues that you may have. **I do not guarantee live arrivals on fish that are NOT shipped express (overnight) mail.** If you have purchased a worm culture that you think may have perished during transit, do NOT throw the substrate away. It will contain viable eggs that will hatch. Instead feed and seed the culture as normal. I cannot be responsible for cultures or fish after the allotted delivery time as I cannot control how well you care for them or how long they set exposed to temperatures in mailboxes. Please note: If a replacement order of fish or a culture is needed buyer must pay for shipping. All orders will only be replaced once. If replacement attempt fails, buyer will be given a store credit for the originally ordered product excluding any shipping charges. Buyer must send email and 2 photos to: willyoueatworms@gmail.com within the same 2 hour allotted delivery time before any credit is applied.
