Red Lace Snakeskins and Blue FireFins I got the original pair of these as freebies with some really nice fish I bought last spring. And to be honest, I liked the pair better than the $$$ ones I had purchased. Check this guy out.

I have gotten two kinds of fry. Snakeskins like daddy and some wacky blue firefins. Except I didn't know they were firefins right away so I had to just grow them out and wait. Meanwhile I was only putting snakeskins with all the females. Up close I would give the edge to the snakeskins. They are a lot more refined. But the firefins are so metallic and bright that they have the bright red/blue effect of cardinal tetras, but in guppy form.
Lighting drastically changes how these look. Both the snakes and firefins can show every color in the rainbow. The pictures below include both fish. I did not enhance the photos at all, just cropped them.

In this auction you will get TWO Blue FireFin males and ONE Red Lace Snakeskin male and THREE females. You have your CHOICE of females hit by snakeskins or females that are probably virgin (just juvies) or a mix. The hit females should drop a mix of both types. If you want more snakes, keep the girls with the snake male. If you want more firefins, keep the females with those males. Or keep them all together which is what I probably should have done in the first place.

As the male firefins have grown, some have developed enough blue iridescence on the dorsal and caudal so that it looks light purple as shown below. I will substitute one of these purple tails for a red tail if you wish (one, not both). Really, who wouldn't like an blue body and purple fins? I am keeping the fish shown and there are only a couple of others so that will be the type I run out of first.
LIGHT PURPLE TAILS!!!

You can see how bright they are with strong bodies and great fins. But what you cannot see from the photos is how easy they are to keep. I have never had to put a female in a trap, plenty of fry survive. They grow fast. That tank isn't even heated. They are very low maintenance as long as they have clean water.
