Tunes! Hello folks! Happy Martin Luther King Day! Well the holidays are over and the pandemic is raging so it's time to start shipping fish again! I hope everyone had a decent holiday season! This offering is for a Group of 8 Neolamprologus multifasciatus! Here in the fish room I just call these "Multies". They are an African Rift Lake tiny dwarf cichlid that are also shell dwellers. I am pretty sure they are the smallest of all the cichlids. I like them so much I have maintained them in my fish room on and off for decades. Even when I finally sell them all off they always seem to find their way back into one of my tanks and I end up having them again. The colony I have now were given to me by my good fish friend "Son of Conrad" and I think he got his from me a few years ago. They really get around cuz most folks that try them end up digging them so much. Win this offering and I will send you all 8 fish you can see in the first 3 photos below. They are all between about 1 inch and 1 1/2 inches long and that is breeding size for these fish. I tried to sex out 4 Males and 4 Females but they are not real easy to sex, basically Males are about double the size of Females so that's what I rounded up, 4 larger fish and 4 smaller fish. If you do some research on these fish do not be intimidated by the fact most authors will recommend sand and rock work for their tank. These are NOT soft water fish but other than that I keep them in my great lakes tap water and I have had them breed and do extremely well in all kinds of tanks from planted to bare. I think it's actually easier to raise more fry in a tank with some plants because the fry end up eating more natural infusoria in between prepared food feedings but they are NOT hard to breed in most any set ups. They DO need shells though and I am going to include 3 of those just like the shells you can also see in the photo's below. High quality foods they are used to chowing down will also in included in the box.
