"The king of deep water in rift lake"

Lake Tanganyika is a second deepest lake in the world and it is believed to be nine to twelve million years ago. Its origin consists of three basins. The central basin first appeared from nine to twelve million years ago, the north basin was formed seven to eight millions years ago and the southern was formed two to four million years old.

Lake Tanganyika is famous for its unique cichlids. More than 200 species which are found in the isolated lake and are found nowhere else in the world. One of deep living species is Cyphotilapia Frontosa/Gibberosa. Most of hobbyists are referred it as a "King of deep" in Lake Tanganyika.

Cape Mpimbwe is located on the eastern shore of Lake Tanganyika, Tanzania. More than nineteen years, Cape Mpimbwe has been a center for diving and fish collecting expeditions, especially Frontosa Bank. Frontosa Bank is located 1.5 miles of the Cape Mpimbwe and it is home of Cyphotilapia Gibbersosa "Mpimbwe Blue."

In 1991, the first Cyphotilapia Gibberosa "Mpimbwe Blue" was discovered and it has been adopted well by hobbyists around the world. Its richness of blue and its personality, "Puppy dog," made it has been become famous among other Cyphotilapia variants.
