bioAquatiX Otocinclus Catfish 1" Otocinclus Catfish; this dwarf sucker mouth catfish is a popular custodial freshwater aquarium fish known for its ability to keep algae buildup under control. It is timid peaceful fish that is very active and should be kept in small group of no less than 4 fish, being in a group makes them feel safe and become more active. It is not a colorful fish but an intriguing one, it is continuously foraging and looking for food all around every leaf and small spaces where there is organic bio film to feed on. Otocinclus should be added to a cycled stable and established planted aquarium. They grow to a maximum size of 2 inches but mostly they are a little smaller 1" or so. We ship on Monday and Tuesday every week. Orders received or pay on Tuesday will be shipped the following week. We currently do not ship when the weather is below 40 F during the day in the customer area. BioAquatix reserve the right to determine when is the best day to ship your product when the weather and possible other factors are in play. There is no box charge. We do use O2 on all shipments. We do use 72 hours heat packs when necessary. All fish are purged for at least 48 hrs before shipping. We recommend using USPS hold for pick up when the weather is getting cold lows in the 40 F at night. The coldest time for the shipment is in the truck on the final leg of the trip. No guarantee live arrival when using USPS priority. We do replace the live fish, but customer will pay shipping again. We only guarantee live arrival on FedEx overnight.
