Description

School of 5 Otocinclus Catfish (1"-2"+) - Fantastic Algae-Eaters!

Larger or smaller quantities available on request! Just visit our website, www.aquaticarts.com, or contact us at AquaticArtsIN@gmail.com

Whether or not you have an algae problem in your tank, Otocinclus Catfish make a great addition to any aquarium community. Also known as Otto Cats, otos, or dwarf suckermouth catfish, these fish use their sucker-mouths to attack algae on the aquarium glass, plants, and decorations. They come from fast-moving rivers in South America, so they do best in aquariums with strong currents (which can be achieved with good water filters or powerheads), good filtration, and plenty of aeration.

Otocinclus Catfish are recognizable by the rows of armor-like plating along their bodies. They often have a variety of neutral colors on their bodies, (such as browns, grays, and black) that form very beautiful patterns. We sell these fish in a school of 5 because they are known to do best in groups of 3 or more. These are small catfish, growing up to a maximum of 2 inches in length.

RECOMMENDED TANK PARAMETERS:
- pH level range: 6.8 to 7.5
- Temperature range: 74 to 79 degrees Fahrenheit
- Water type: Soft to medium hard
- Recommended Aquatic Arts tank mates: Dwarf shrimp (such as Blue Velvet shrimp, Sakura Fire Red Cherry Shrimp, etc.), snails (such as Mystery Snails, Sulawesi Snails, etc.), other non-aggressive fish.
- Additional notes: Relatively easy to care for as long as water parameters remain stable. These fish prefer to live in tanks with driftwood or live aquatic plants for cover (such as java moss, anubias barteri, green cabomba, etc.).
