Culturing Instructions:
Vinegar Eels are quite small and difficult to see with the human eye. You may observed hem with a magnifying glass. If you see the presence of a cloudy mass in the vinegar based medium, you have vinegar eels. They're another good source of food for newborn fry. Vinegar Eels are very easy to culture and requires very little effort.Which Fish Will Eat Them :Most fry like Killifish, Bettas, Guppies, Gouramis, Corydoras, Apistogrammas etc. until they;re about 1/4 - 1/2 inch and then you may try feeding them Grindal Worms.Environment: Select a dark area in your room to keep your culturing container.Temperature: Room temperature.Size: 1/16inch in length.Food: No feeding necessary.Container: Glass Jars, Bottles etc.Medium: Mix 50/50 ratios of unpasteurized apple cider vinegar and distilled water in your culturing bottle or jar. Add a small amount of sugar and a few small pieces of fresh apple into your culturing medium. Add your starter culture to the medium and cover your container using a coffee filter and rubber band to secure the filter paper or you can loosely stuff the opening with filter floss or cotton. In about 3- 4 weeks, you'll have a container full of vinegar eels.

Sub-Culturing: It's best to start a new culture every 3-4 weeks. Prepare your new medium and add part of your old culture to the new one.Helpful Hints:Use clear/see-throughbottles so that you can easily check the status of your culture without having to open the remove it's covering. It's best to keep more that onebottle ofVinegar Eelsgoing just in case something happens to the one.
