I also use professional styros that I obtain from the pet store. These styros usually measure 17 X 17 X 9 inches in size. this allows for plenty of fish and plenty of room to pack them securely. Please note most boxes weigh around 8 pounds once packaged. Given the postal services way of calculating rates your box will cost around $45 to ship express. This includes the cost of shipping, the cost of the styro box, the cost of the bags, the cost of the pure oxygen, the cost of the shipping chemicals and potential paypal cost if you elect to pay via paypal. So if your box actually cost $37 to ship the other $5.00 plus is used to cover some of those supplies and fees. Again it is a flat rate charge to all locations. Priority mail is anywhere from $15-$29 to ship priority. the farther you are from michigan zipcode 48723 the more it will cost to ship priority mail due to postal rules. Priority mail is only available in the summer when it is warm everywhere. Please feel free to e-mail me your zipcode for a quote on priority mail. I will only ship via priority mail when the weather is optimal for it. I do not mail with other carries. By the time I get home from work and pack the fish and get them to the other carriers their shipment has been picked up for the day which delays your fish by a day. So please don't ask about shipping with other carriers as I will only ship via the United States Postal Service. RESTRICTED SPECIES: I will not be responsible for penalty incurred due to restricted species. It is up to the buyer to check, and confirm that the species are legally allowed in the specific state. Any legal ramification will be the responsibility of the buyer. I will ship the fish in good faith knowing you have checked, and confirmed the legality of the species you ordered. My live arrival and shipping policy Priority mail is available in summer only. I offer a live arrival guarantee on my fish when shippping them. zipcode I ship from is 48723. The way my guarantee works is you will be refunded the cost of the DOA (Dead on arrival) fish only. So for instance you win an auction for 10 fish for $100.00 (fish are worth $10.00 each). 2 of the fish are DOA. You would receive $20.00 back for the 2 DOA's. Most times I include extra fish. The extra fish are designed to cover any potential DOA's. The extra fish are not covered by the live arrival guarantee. They are designed to cover your DOA's. So lets say you purchase 10 fish for $100.00 ($10.00 per fish). I send you 12 and 2 are DOA. The 2 extra that I sent you covered the DOA's and you will not receive a refund on the 2 DOA fish as it has already been covered by the extra two fish. To collect on the DOA's please e-mail me a digital picture of the dead fish in its unopened bag within 2 hours of the post man delivering them. I will then ask that you package the dead fish in a small baggie with plenty of salt and send them back to me. Upon receipt of the bodies you will receive cash back through paypal for the dead fish. Please note that you need to be at home to accept the package when it arrives. I get delivery confirmation so that I know when the fish arrive. If you let the fish sit outside all day and then e-mail many hours after receiving them saying they are dead they will not be covered. I will not warrantee fish that are dead as a result of a delay by the carrier. At that point you would need to take up the loss with the carrier.
