Our fish have been bred and raised by me and my wife in our fish room. I started in the hobby
over 10 years ago back in high school when a Aquatic Bio class had extra fish that no other
classmates wanted to take home at the end of the semester. So I was thrown into buying a
10 gallon tank and learn on the fly! Needless to say, being a newbie, I wiped out everything
in that tank. After a few times of rinsing the biological filtration in tap water and wondering why
everything would die after cleaning the filter I smartened up. That was the beginning, now I
have 20+ tanks running in my fish room with 10-20 more planned on being put in.

When I started, I quickly fell in love with South American cichlids mainly angels, and if I have to
be honest, they still hold a special place in my heart. But, my tapwater is detrimental to
the breeding and rearing of angelfish, and I could only get fry upto the pea/dime size
before I would have massive die-offs overnight. I had always seen African cichlids in the
stores and always walked right by them. I could never figure out what the hype behind
them was, they all looked the same to me, overcrowded tanks, and they all would come
up and beg for food when you walked by the tank. Just never understood it, and even now,
I'm not sure if I fully do yet. But they have thrived in my tap water that comes out like liquid
rock. So with fish I didn't appreciate, like, or even want, I ended up with what I originally
set out to do 9 years ago, have fish thriving and breeding in my tanks. Go figure.
