Welcome to my World of Small Fish and Plants

My fishroom

Welcome!

I live near Cleveland Ohio.

My fish room consists of about 70 tanks.

The tanks are on two racks made of 2x4s, three levels high.

One rack holds soft water or live bearing fish, the other one hold hard water fish.

All of the tanks are on a semi-automatic water change system.
Soft water tanks receive pure RO water with Seachem Neutral Buffer for a pH of 7.0 The other tanks receive tap water plus baking soda.

All have water overflow system using either bulkheads or a no-drill water overflow device made out of PVC pipe. See picture below of this no-drill overflow device.

Water is pumped to the tank and the amount added to the tank is controlled by emitters used by gardeners. They come in a variety of sizes from 0.5 gals per hour up to 12 gals per hour.

Most tanks are only 12 inches tall so I maintain mostly smaller fish and dwarf cichlids.
For hard water fish I mainly keep fish from Lake Tanganyika.
