My Fish Raising Process
I am a retired Veteran living in Florida. I appreciate all types of fish and animals but I am especially fond of freshwater tropicals at this time. I am not a commercial fish farm. This is my retirement hobby to keep me busy and so I don't get board. I eat sleep and drink tropical fish and it has become my passion. My fish show it ,buy superior quality and the care I give them. I am not a business, I just sell fish to help pay for my hobby and conservation efforts. All fish are glass tank raised, with HOB filters and backup sponge filters in each tank. All tanks get a weekly water change and daily personal care. I have over ( 120 ) freshwater tanks, well over 1000 gallons of water with fish. The fish I am raising are as follows species: Cichlids: Convicts Cichlids (Central American)Livebearers: Goodieds: Including Ameca splendens, Z. tequila's and Xenotoca variatas, and also Least Killifish species Catfish: (BN Plecos and Cory Catfish) More about the fish I have for sale in the My Auctions category. Fish Room: My fish room is located in my garage and takes up half of the space. The other half is a work bench and tool storage area. This is one portion of my fish room. I started building it last year and it will never be complete. I am constantly changing, updating and upgrading everything about the way it functions, looks and operates. Whenever a problem arises, I research it and try to correct it as soon as I can, so as not too cause undue stress on my fish population. It may only affect one tank ,but might and most likely affects all tanks. With location in Zephyrhills, FL we can raise better fish with a controlled environment and less stress on the fish. We maintain intensive husbandry programs. The water supplies at our facilities are a spring fed municipal hard water source, carbon filtered and sometimes de-ionized. We provide our fish with 24 hrs. care, 12/12 lighting and daily and weekly water changes. Feeding: All of our fish and fry are fed on a daily regimen of Ken's Fish Food Diets and Tertramin Flakes (Dr. Foster's Smith). All fish and fry diets are available online ordering directly through Ken's Fish www.kensfish.com or Dr. Foster's Smith.com Payment & Shipping Information: Payment: Payment by Paypal only, (Paypal Invoice) US Currency only. Please wait for PayPal Invoice before paying. Payment should be made within 72 hrs. of receipt of Paypal Invoice, in order for timely shipment. DO NOT just send payment to Paypal Email address, use Paypal Invoice to pay for shipment, this will delay your shipment. Paypal Payment to rcbows@gmail.com. Basic quote applies to all shipments, but shipping estimate may vary by location (distance away). All shipping cost will be the responsibility of buyer. Customer responsible for balance overages to USPS or other freight carrier. Shipping: Fish are shipped in Styrofoam container or lined box. 3ml Fish bags are used as for normal shipments. Fish are double bagged, with atmospheric Oxygen only. Breather bags are available for and additional price ($ .50 ea). Breather bags are recommended on all shipments, and heat sealed for secure shipment. Additional packaging materials my be added to prevent sloshing and protect fish bags. A 72 hr. heat or cool pack $2.00 with either shipping method, if required. Shipping via USPS Priority mail (Recommended; No Live Guarantee) Flat rate fee depends on the size of the fish & flat rate box (it will be Est. $15 for Med Flat rate Box and $ 20 for large). Estimates for Express Mail will run $45 (Est.) depending on location. Express Mail Shipping vary's greatly depending on the size of the fish and the weight and size of box. Live Arrival Delivery is guaranteed with EXPRESS MAIL ONLY. Express Mail shipping only guarantees fish not postage or shipping fees. Express Mail shipping Live Guarantee to be in effect, fish must be received on 1st delivery attempt. Dead Fish, pic must be sent within 1 hour of 1st. delivery attempt, in unopened container. Heat pack required when ambient night and day temps are below 50 F Day and 30 F Night, no exceptions. Fish are fasted 24 hrs before shipment, so allow plenty of time for delivery. Proper acclimation should be followed, when unpacking fish. Plastic bags should be floated (15 to 20 mins.) while breather bags should use drip acclimation. I ship Fish only Monday & Tuesday, sometime and rarely Wednesday, to allow for on time delivery. No fish will be shipped when National Holiday falls within the middle of the week.
