Louisville Cichlids specializes in premium african cichlids. We ship nationally, anywhere in the United States, and we service our local area of Louisville and the surrounding Kentucky region, including Northern Tennessee, Southern Indiana and Ohio. Perhaps we don't advertise, as so many do, to have the largest selection on the web! That's because we don't want to be like most online fish sales operations where hundreds of fish are shown, but inevitably unavailable or must be flown in from afar.
Our operation
We maintain an honest and accurate listing of what you can actually buy. Most of the fish we sell are bred by us right here in Louisville; occasionally, customers are looking for a very specific fish or want it caught wild. In which case we have the fish shipped in. All of the breeding colonies at Louisville Cichlids are housed in individual closed systems, preventing any cross breeding or pathogen transmission. Our grow out tanks are spacious closed systems with natural environments. All of the water at Louisville Cichlids is monitored daily to maintain pristine parameters. You simply cannot find fish raised under better conditions. The future health and wellbeing of a fish can be influenced significantly during its development stage. That is why Louisville Cichlids puts so much emphasis on how these fish are raised. You just cannot compare the fish bred at Louisville Cichlids to those raised on some large hectacre farm in Florida and then flown over long distances.When you buy our fish you can rest assured that it has been cared for just as you will care for it for years to come.We look forward to meeting you! The guarantee applies only to up to 48 hour transits. Louisville Cichlids will not be responsible for dead on arrival (hereinafter DOA) that are caused by the mishandling of the carrier; this may include, but is not limited to: carrier delay (over 48 hours), damaged boxes, extreme weather conditions, failure to receive the delivery, or return to sender address unknown. It will be the responsibility of the purchaser to file a claim with the carrier in such situations. Your fish must be received by the carrier upon delivery (you have to be there to get the box- no leave on door step delivery if you want the guarantee). You must notify Louisville Cichlids by sending an email immediately upon receiving the box in your hands. Our Refund Policy: If one or some of your fish that were shipped with a guarantee arrive DOA we will issue a credit for the DOA fish only. We will not reship another individual or portion of the order nor refund shipping and handling. In the event of a total loss we will ship out another order including the cost of shipping. In The Event of DOA: The refund policy only applies if you email a digital picture within 1 hour of delivery of the DOA fish or fishes still in the sealed bag to tboardman@LouisvilleCichlids.com.
