About my fishroom.
Hi, I am JJ. I have had aquariums since grade school. Today I maintain a 40 tank fish room keeping two strains of guppies. Blue Grass and Golden Full Reds. The Blue Grass strain I have was found at a time when I was raising betta. While on a buying trip to another breeders fishroom I spotted a tank of these guppies that were being colony bred and pretty much an after thought for him. Their finage was amazing. I walked out that day with two trio's and over the next few months made a conversion from betta to this line of guppies. My Golden Reds were imported from ATFG. I also have imported ATFG Blue Grass to work into my original Blue Grass. My challenge with the original strain is that being colony bred throw backs of Multi Grass were allowed and to breed. Those first trio's were at the ends of their productive life but threw them I was able to get about a 100 fry that are the backbone of my line. I have no idea how long it might take to get to a high ratio of only Blue Grass. But if you don't have patience your probably in the wrong hobby :) My feeding program is high quality flake, BBS, and from about April to October live mosquito larve that are collected from 5 outside containers placed just for this. Nature will provide a great live food source that once set up only time required is collection and feeding. If you would like information on this drop me a note. My fish are for nothing more than my personal enjoyment. A constant window of nature. If you are reading this as a result of an auction be assured this is not about the money. If I wanted that I could simply go to work. I own a construction company that does well. Auctions will always start at a buck. I am simply disposing of some fish that I know I won't go forward with and making more room for those I am working with. I would give any child a tank full if they had a true interest in the hobby. And instruct them to learn all the lessons that box of water contains:) And warn them it might take a life time:)
