Cyradia - Just Me Fish

Hobbyist Breeder
I've been keeping fish, mostly cichlids, since I was a kid. In the last several years I've put together a fishroom of about 900 gallons (hopefully will be about 1200 when everything is done.) I love to keep a variety of fish to observe different breeding habits. I tend to have mostly South American and African cichlids. I also breed a few species of plecos. Many of my tanks are planted, so I sell off plant clippings when I can. Any money I make on aquabid just goes back into the fish budget to hopefully make a dent in all of those fishy bills. I'm most interested in meeting great people and adding quality fish into the hobby.

Payment
I tend to prefer paypal payments. It just makes everything so much easier. One of my pet peeves on aquabid is sellers that try to nickle and dime you with stupid fees and added percentages. It's against paypal policy (and in some states illegal) to charge customers more for using paypal, (ie, passing on that cost to the customer.) Not only that, but it's just plain annoying and bad customer service. I will never ask you to cover the nominal charges paypal charges me on our transaction and you are more than welcome to pay with a credit card via paypal.

Shipping

With the high cost of shipping, I think USPS makes the most sense in most situations. Details and the exact fixed cost you will pay for shipping is described in each auction. I don't like a bunch of confusing charges, so I set fixed costs for shipping. I arrive at these by estimating around the high end of what the box might cost me to ship. Sometimes I guess too low and end up paying the extra amount to ship, which I always do. Sometimes I guess high, and what you see printed on the label might be a little lower than the fixed fee you paid. However, please consider that I pay $15 an insulation sheet to make my own styrofoam boxes (a tedious process) to keep costs down, add heat packs or ice packs if necessary, pay to keep an oxygen tank in my fish room to use in shipping to make sure the fish arrive to you in the best possible condition, and double bag your purchase in some of the thickest and best quality fish bags you can buy. I don't charge any extra for shipping supplies or handling fees, but if the postage ends up being a few dollars less than what you paid please consider all of the extra costs it takes to ship your box. I'm certainly not making money in shipping fees, and I think you'll still find my fixed costs much less than most other sellers.
